So, what's the deal with that statue? I find a very curious connection with the Cooper's Autobiography (My life, my tapes).

In the book, little Cooper says that FBI Story (1959 movie with Jimmy Stewart) is his favorite movie in the world and the movie poster (in the wall of his room) is his favorite thing in the world.

With that in mind, this scene looks more beautiful: that's what Dale is doing, remembering his most important personal item as a kid

When I watched this scene today, I immediately thought that the statue was making Cooper remembering about his ancient job as a FBI agent although we don't see him using his gun that much in the first two seasons. Now that you mention movie poster, it makes sense for me.
