Her world was always a little twisted, but this was just demented. Why are the Horne's so flawed?

She seems to be stuck in some sort of purgatory, a bad deal, or a punishment.

The way the scene was shot and edited made it feel like she is in purgatory. Basically one shot of her, delivering lines, one after another.
